Grandparents Arrive!

Today Julia's grandparents from Alberta arrived. We all went to the airport to pick them up. Julia was a bit nervous meeting them again but that was expected. She didn't cry though! Maybe she was too tired to cry since it was way past her bedtime. Tommorow will be a big test when Grandma and Papere babysit in the evening. Hopefully everything will be okay because the next day is her surgery so she needs lots of rest. No pictures today but we'll have some soon.

Julia Hates Mondays

Image
Julia had a tough time saying good-bye this morning to me at daycare. It is usually like this on Mondays. She gets use to us at home on the weekends and then feels uncomfortable at daycare on Monday morning. It's not a big deal because when I peek in the window a minute later she's already stopped crying. By Monday afternoon she doesn't want to come home. Tomorrow Julia has a half day at daycare. I have to pick her up at lunch to take her to her pre-op physical in preparation for Friday's surgery. Hopefully she'll get the green light. It's going to be a tough appointment because the doctor will have to look into her ears...she HATES that! 2 more days until Julia's grandparents come.

Little Hercules

Julia's strong for her age...ok not as strong as Mya but pretty strong. Here she is pulling her wagon.

Sleeping with Feet Out

Does this look comfortable? Julia thinks it is.

Julia's Friend Next Door

Image
This afternoon we went for a walk to the park. Julia usually likes the swings but today she would have none of that. She did like the slide though. After dinner Julia played out front with Nicole (Nicky). Nicky lives next door and is the same age as Julia. Julia is very shy but after a while she was more relaxed. 3 more days until Julia's grand parents from Alberta come. She is looking forward to seeing them again. 5 more days until her ear operation.

Any Given Saturday

Image
On Saturday Julia and Sheryl went gocery shopping in the morning. Julia likes going to the grocery store because she gets to see all kinds of neat stuff...live fish, colourful fruits, cakes. The only problem is that she wants to eat the stuff before she gets out of there. I don't want us to be one of those families that let their kids eat at the grocery store and then bring an empty package to the check-out. In the afternoon we all went to the mall to look for shoes for Julia. Her current shoes are tight now. Maybe that's why she walks funny sometimes. After the mall Julia played in her pool and I took off to Ron's stag.

Sleep Baby Sleep

Image
One of Julia's new games is to put her baby to sleep. Julia puts her on her belly, covers her with a blanket and then strokes her back until she is "asleep". She learned that one from the daycare. That's how they get the kids to sleep. Julia is strict with baby. She checks up on her to make sure she stays asleep. That one she learned from home (Mommy). Julia is starting to put words together now. It is now "bye-bye Mommy" when Sheryl goes to work; "bye-bye Daddy" when I drop her off at daycare. She even says "bye-bye Ann-doo" and "bye-bye da-gee (doggy)" when she sees pictures of Andrew and Chester on the blogs. She has also developed a fake cry and a fake laugh. Sometimes it's cute...sometimes. Check out the stain. This is from playing at daycare.

I'm a Big Girl Now!

Image
Julia is out of the crib at daycare and now sleeps in a cot. The cot is around 2 inches off the ground so no injury fears. I'm told that she took to it right away. Julia will be moving to a new room at the end of this month. She will be going to the Sr. Toddler room where they don't have cribs so moving to a cot is a necessity. Now we have to decide when to move her to a bed at home. I think that she should be able to move to a bed soon...maybe sometime this month.

Bubble Bath

Image
Today Julia had her first bubble bath! Hooray!!!...Not. She hated it. This kid LOVES bubbles but put her in a bath tub full of them and she freaks out! Oh well, we'll try again tomorrow. :-)

Sunday Videos

Here are a few videos from Sunday. Walk in the park. Hot! Hot! Hot! Ring-Around-...

Sunday Shower

Image
Sunday was Julianne's shower. It was in Ajax so while Sheryl was at the shower, Julia and I went to visit Selena and Mya. Andrew was also there so they all had a lot of fun. We all went to the park with Papa and Grandma. Julia loved to run through the water sprays. I had to hold her back a bit because we didn't bring a towel with us to the park. After the park we went back and the kids all decorated cupcakes with Grandma. That was at 4:15pm so dinner was a right-off. Oh well, I guess Grandma's are the only ones allowed to spoil the little ones. Julia had a close encounter with Soldier. I think he licked her face. She was terrified! After the incident she could not stay in the same room as Soldier. Poor Soldier had to spend the rest of the day out in the backyard.

Auntie Weezie Babysits

For most of Saturday and Saturday evening, Auntie Weezie babysat Julia. This gave Sheryl and I chance to do a few things around the house. We threw out a bunch of junk from the basement and the garage and took them to the dump. Meanwhile Julia and Aunt Weezie went to the mall to do some shopping. When they came back Julia had a little LaSenza bag! I'm assuming it was for Louise and not some frilly diapers...I didn't check. Later that evening Julia and Louise stayed home while Sheryl and I went to dinner to celebrate Sheryl's birthday. After dinner we went to Woodbine to play some slots. We had no luck like usual.

Auntie Weezie Visits

Today Auntie Weezie has come for a visit and will be staying for a couple of days. Julia always has a lot of fun when Auntie Weezie is over. She was already having giggle fits at the dinner table. Don't ask me what she was laughing at because I don't have the faintest idea.

Julia Over a Year

This is Julia morphing from last year to this year.

Asleep

Image
Here are a couple of pictures of Julia in her crib. One is from tonight, the other is from March 2004. Can you tell the difference? Julia had a good day today at daycare. Her best friend Maya is on vacation this week so she has been hanging around Sammy this week. Sammy (turns 2 in September) thinks that Julia is his girlfriend. He held her hand as they walked to the lunch room today. Unfortunately no pictures.

New (Noisy) Toy

Image
This is Julia's new toy. I think everyone had a version of this toy sometime in their lives. You push or pull it around and it pops these little balls around. Julia likes it. Daddy...not so much.

Julia's First Photos

Image
These are the first photos ever snapped by Julia by herself. Not bad but I think she can do better.

Banana

Today is a slow news day in Julia's World. After dinner Julia ate a whole banana. I have no idea where she puts it. Then she went for a swim in her favourite pool...the tub. She likes it because it doesn't have garbage and hair balls floating in it like Wild Water Kingdom.

Wild Water Rip-Off

Image
Today we went to Wild Water Kingdom. It sucks. First the weather wasn't co-operating. It was rainy and cool. This must be the first day this month where the temperature didn't hit 30. Figures. Secondly the place was a bit of a mess. It is run down and dirty. The water in the pool was cloudy. Yuck! No effort is put into this place. Third, the food is expensive and terrible. But it's for the kids right? Julia had fun. She always does when she is hanging with her cousins. Selena and Mya's cousin Jenna was also out today so it was even better for the kids. Julia didn't like going in the pool with me. I think it is a bit too deep and too cold. She likes her water 37 deg C and 4 inches deep . Overall the kids had a good time. For more pictures check out the picture gallery . If you're thinking of going to Wild Water Kingdom, DON'T! Go to the zoo or Ontario Place. It's a much better value at those places.
