Auntie Weezie's Birthday

Image
Today we went to Grandma and Papere's to celebrate Auntie Weezie's thirty-something birthday. Michaela and MacKenzie were there so Julia had a great time. They also took a stroll to the park. Julia really had a great time with Michaela this weekend. Too bad we don't live closer.

New Friends

Image
Today was a busy day for Julia. First was her dance class. Then she went to the dentist (no cavities!). Then she went to Grandma's house to visit Mommy's friend Linda and her two girls, Michaela (3) and MacKenzie (1). Michaela and Julia quickly became friends. It was fun to watch because bossy Julia had met her match. Michaela had Julia following orders. They had a good time playing, painting and dancing. Julia wasn't as fond of MacKenzie. MacKenzie loved to pull Julia's ponytails and make Julia cry. That's a tough infant! Michaela's third birthday is coming up this week so they also had a birthday cake for her. This was actually the second time that Julia and Michaela met. They met when they were still babies. Michaela(L) and Julia(R).

Sleeping Troubles

Over the past few weeks it has been difficult getting Julia to sleep at nighttime and naptime. She continually asks to go to the bathroom. She screams until you take her to the bathroom. This goes on over several trips to the bathroom. Does she really have the feeling that she needs to go or is she trying to avoid bedtime? Probably the latter. It has been getting bad at school too. On Thursday she was so disruptive that she was removed from the room(I'm not sure where they put her but she did fall asleep). We have found over the past few nights that she is more relaxed about sleeping once she puts a pull-up on (at her request). Maybe she is just afraid of wetting the bed. Anyway, it works for now so we'll let her wear them until she is comfortable without them again.

Tracy's Baby Shower

Image
Today Mommy and Julia went to Tracy's baby shower at Mama's house. I went and did a bit of shopping in the meantime. One of the gifts was a Bumbo seat. Nathan tried it out but got stuck. I guess his butt is a bit bigger than the average newborn's. After the shower we went to Grandma and Papa's. No swimming though. The pool is being repaired.

Ballerina!

Julia showing off her new ballerina outfit! She is really enjoying her dance classes.

Nice Weather!

Image
Finally! Great weather! We went for a walk to the part on Friday night. What a great start to the weekend. The park was swarming with kids. Julia had to stick to the swings and the small climber. The big climber was full of bigger kids.

Jacob's Baptism

Last weekend was Jacob's baptism (I know...I'm a bit behind). After we went to Uncle Gary and Auntie Jackie's house for lunch. Here are a few pictures.

Julia Goes Dancing

Today was Julia's first dancing class. It's a Moms and Tots dance class. I heard that Julia had a good time. I didn't go because as Julia explained "it is just for girls, you can't come". She said that I can come next week to watch but just for a little bit, then I have to leave. Nice. After her class, Mommy took her to Zellers to pick up a proper ballerina dress. Julia was very naughty today. She was defiant at nap time. She refused to go to sleep. During her prolonged fit, there was lots of screaming, jumping on the bed, kicking the door, hitting mommy, and on and on. In the end she didn't take a nap. We then went to dinner with Papare, Grandma and Auntie Weezie. Julia was generally well behaved surprisingly. Then bedtime turned out to be like naptime. Not quite as bad but still very naughty. Maybe I should give her a couple of Gravols before bed (just joking!).

Julia's Drawing

Image
Julia made a drawing and it actually resembles what she wanted it to look like. Usually her drawings are just a bunch of scribbly lines. Watch the video for Julia's explanation of the details.

Easter Dinner

Image
Today we had early Easter dinner with Gary, Jackie, Selena, Mya, Jacob, Papere, Grandma and Aunt Weezie. The rest of the family was off to Vegas. Aunt Weezie had an Easter Egg hunt for the kids. The Moms and Grandma helped find the harder ones. There was plenty of treats for the kids. Julia went straight to bed with a tummy ache. She didn't want a bath or stories. She ASKED to go to bed! Dinner was great even though the stove blew up! Well not really blew up but it zapped and tripped the circuit breaker for the whole house! Once we got the power on we found out that the stove control panel doesn't work. ERRRRRR!!!! Frigidaire SUCKS! We have no luck with appliances in this house (Fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, stove...all replaced, repaired, or in need of repair). Luckily dinner had just finished cooking.

Colouring Easter Eggs

Image
On Friday, Julia made her Easter eggs. Unlike last year, Julia was rather bored by the whole thing. She did her bit colouring the eggs but had no interest in decorating them later on. I guess she figured, why bother...they're not chocolate.
