Today all the cousins went to Marineland! What a hot and sunny day! We started the morning off at the kiddie rides. The ferris wheel was a big hit...slow and gentle. A good way to start although Uncle Gary claimed it was "boring". Next was the Lady Bug Coaster. It was small but quick and bumpy. Selena, Mya, Andrew and Nathan thought it was great. Julia and Jenna didn't care for it. Then we went on the Space Ship. Julia hated it. A bit too quick for her. After about 20 seconds she said "I WANT THIS TO BE OVER NOW!". Next was the kiddie boat ride. Big hit with Jenna and Julia (those two are not into the thrill rides yet). Then we had a picnic lunch. The kids all ate together on a blanket and the adults sat at the picnic table. In the afternoon we went to see the dolphin, seal and walrus show. That was pretty good show and kept us out of the sun for awhile. After the show we went to see the deer in the Deer Park. Julia and Jenna were a bit nervous...

Guess what? Two eggs! Based on the feedback on the previous post, letting them be is the popular choice. However, now that there are two eggs it opens up a couple of other possibilities. I could.... a) Leave them be b) Kill them all c) Have a two-egg omelette d) Send a strong message by smashing one egg Julia would like to leave them be so I guess that's what I'll do.

A couple of love birds decided that the drain passage on our upper balcony would make a nice nest. These are persistant buggers. I broke up their nest two times on the weekend. Well finally they beat me. They built a nest AND laid an egg while I was at work. So now the big question...Do I let them nurse this egg into a new baby birdie or do I smash the egg and break up the nest? My soft side wants to let them be. My hard side wants to show them who's boss. What do you think I should do? Please comment.

After Russell's baptism, we were able to make it to "Selena's Birthday Party For Family Members" (not to be confused with "Selena's Birthday Party for Friends", or "Selena's Birthday Party On Her Actual Birth Day"). Selena is such a big girl now. 7 years old! Boy does time fly! Happy Belated Birthday Selena!        

Today was Russell's baptism and I had the honour of becoming his God Father. Russell seemed to enjoy the water being poured on his head and the candle. Julia was a good girl in church despite still being grumpy about her booboo on her knee. OK someone explain this to me...Is it against the rules for a church to have A/C? Afterwards we went back to Russell's house for a bit before heading to Selena's Birthday party.        

Well we put it off as long as we could but we finally did what all parents in North America eventually do...take the kids to Chuck E Cheese's. Julia was a little overwhelmed by the action. She did like the kiddie ferris wheel for some reason. In the last picture you can see what she bought with all the tickets we collected...a plastic wrist thing and a plastic ring.

Today was Julia's last dance class. They did the class without parents participating and all the parents were invited to watch. Papere and Aunt Weezie also stopped by to see Julia. Julia had lots of fun in this class. We will have to find her a new dance class to attend.

Friday was Father's Day Breakfast at daycare. All the Dads were invited to stay for breakfast with the kids. It was fun. Julia was so excited about it. She was asking me the day before what I wanted. She even wanted to wear a dress for the special breakfast. Her friends Kaitlyn and Ashley also dressed up a bit.

The posts are up for the deck...finally. It was hard work watching the guys dig the holes and mix the cement. It almost made me tired. Julia went to McDonalds and made up her own treat creation. She likes to dip her apple slices into ketchup! Yuck! I guess I shouldn't be surprised since Sheryl is from Leamington !    

Saturday was a busy day at our house. Phase 1 of the landscaping project started. Our hired expert came by bright and early to start digging holes for the post for the deck. This turned out to be a really tough job. He hit lots of rocks and actually got the auger stuck in a hole. It took him one hour to get it out. While the contractor was working on the holes, Uncle Louis and I finished of the back fence because our lazy-ass neighbour couldn't finish it in the three years since we did our side. Meanwhile Julia went to her morning dance class. This was her second last class. Julia had fun teaching the class for a bit. All the kids had a chance to teach for a bit but Julia seemed to bask in the limelight more than the others. Later on both Grandmas and both Grandpas came by to check out the progress on the deck. Then Nicky the neighbour strolled in to play dress up with Julia. Nicky wore the costume home because she refused to take it off. Then we went to Papere's hou...

Julia has taken all the moves she's learned from dance class and encorporated it into her routine entitled "The Graceful Princess". Watch.

Happy 40th Anniversary Grandma and Papa! Today is Grandma and Papa's 40th wedding anniversary...Wow! We celebrated this milestone at the Mandarin with the whole family. After dinner we went back to Uncle Bob and Aunt Debbie's where the kids had fun playing together. Before dinner we dropped by Grandma's for a short swim.

Tip: Don't leave a can of pop unattended in the freezer...bad things happen.
