Back to Normal

Image
Julia seems to be back to normal. She went to school yesterday and had a good day. Her regular ear check up with the specialist is this Wednesday so we may find out if this was an ear infection. Here are recent pictures from Julia's class.

Sick Days

Julia has been away from school for two days. She started getting a fever on Tuesday night. Really no other symptoms besides that. That kind of worries me because her ear infections usually start like that...fever first, then discomfort in her ears. However, she was fever free today and hasn't had any Tempra since 11 pm last night. Hopefully everything is ok now.

Proud Moment

This evening I witnessed Julia doing something that almost brought a tear to my eye. It was another great milestone in her life following her first smile, her first steps, her first words, her first day at daycare...etc. As she was giving me a hug and kiss goodnight she let out a huge fart and a big giggle. Ahh, the art of toilet humour! She gets it! Mommy wasn't so impressed so she sent Julia back to me to give me a proper hug and kiss. Julia came back, opened up her arms, squeezed out another fart, and said "I farted. Did you hear it?". What can I say. The kid has a sense of humour.

This Week's Recap

Image
After a sleepless night on Monday night, Julia was fine the rest of the week. She has been battling a cold this week which put her in a "mood". She had a rough day at school on Thursday...lots of crying, fits, etc. It continued on into the evening with the ride home. Julia and I had quite the fight in the car. Basically she was being bossy and not listening. It was a rough ride home. The next day she was better at school and at home so maybe she learned something. Saturday we went out to Crabby Joe's for dinner. Julia kept standing on the bench (we had a booth) to look in a mirror. Other than that she was ok. Today we went to Grandma and Papere's for dinner. Julia was with them the whole day from church on. Mommy and I went downtown to pick up something from Mommy's office (I wish I knew it was the Toronto Marathon day...what a traffic disaster! Very annoying, plus I didn't see anyone running fast. Just a lot of out-of-breath walkers.). Pictures fr...

Sleepless Night

Image
Last night Julia was up most of the night after midnight. I have no idea what was keeping her up but she would not go to sleep. Unfortunately for Mommy, Julia was calling for her and not Daddy. Mommy only got a couple of hours of sleep so she took a vacation day and Julia stayed home from school. She thought that was great because she got spend the day with Grandma and Papere. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Toronto Zoo

Image
On Saturday we went to the Toronto Zoo. Julia loves to watch animals and was very excited to go. The weather held up. It was looking like it was going to rain but it was just overcast all day. Perfect for walking around the zoo.

Smiling

Image
Mommy's been trying to teach Julia how to smile nicely. The first picture is Julia's version of a smile. The second picture is the Mommy coached smile. She's getting the hang of it.

Show Me Yours and I'll Show You Mine!

...Dora underwear that is. Julia's friend Kaitlyn was so proud of her Dora underwear that she had to show Julia. Not to be out done, Julia had to flash her Dora underwear as well.

Weekend Update

Image
On Friday, Mommy's Aunt Irene visited for a bit. She was in town from Leamington visiting friends. Julia hasn't seen Aunt Irene since she was only a few months old. She was a bit shy. On Saturday we went to Daddy's friend Brian's house. Julia had a chance to play with Jasmine and Cole. Julia really liked Jasmine. She asked on the way home if we could go back tomorrow to play with Jasmine. Today Julia went to church and McDonald's with Grandma, Papere and Mommy. I passed. Last week Julia asked "Daddy, you don't like church?". I may have to start making an appearance once in a while. Later today, we went to Grandma and Papere's for supper.

Swimming at Grandma's

Image
On Sunday we went swimming at Grandma's with Selena and Mya. Julia is getting braver. She used a float by herself for a bit and jumping into the water holding my hands. Mya was jumping into the water all by herself and Selena can swim the full length of the pool. Not bad.
