Snow Fun

Image
Winter sucks but kids love it. Tonight we had some fun sliding down the driveway. We haven't had too many mild days with snow this winter so we had to take advantage of it. Next door Nicky joined in on the fun.

Found!

Image
I am happy to report that "Baby with the Bib" has been found and returned safely to her owner. It was a tense few nights but Julia bravely coped with this terrible ordeal. It turned out that "Baby" was in the teachers cupboard all along. I guess we just didn't look hard enough on Friday (or someone is playing cruel tricks on Julia!). Regardless, the nightmare is over and we can all return to our normal lives. Baby is never going back to school.

Missing!

Image
Major crisis at daycare today. I went to pick up Julia and her favourite baby was missing. This is THE baby of babies. Julia has slept with her every night of her life. At this point we don't know where she is. Hopefully she will turn up on Monday. Julia was very stressed at the time but she did fall asleep tonight without a problem. I think everyone can relate to having a favourite comfort doll or stuffed animal. For example, I know this 37 year old guy ( I won't name names ) who still cherishes his stuffed monkey from his childhood even though it only has one eye left and is all crusty!

Back to School

Image
Julia was back to school today. She was in a good mood. Her nose is still really runny but hopefully she is over the worst of it. Here is another photo album. Julia's 3rd Birthday Party

Home Sick

Today Julia stayed with Grandma. She has another cold coming on and it was getting bad last night and this morning. I don't think she was feeling good because she was pretty crabby at Grandma's. Hopefully by being at Grandma's she got more rest than at school. I think tomorrow she will be going back to school.

Julia's Birthday Party

Image
Today we had Julia's birthday party. All her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents came over to celebrate. We also celebrated the birthdays of Andrew, Papa, Auntie Debbie and Aunt Linda. Julia got lots of nice presents. The cousins had fun playing together. Not too much fighting. Nathan did a number on the carpet, his hair and clothes with playdough mixed with water. We got the carpet cleaned fairly easily with OxyClean (yes it does work! see the last picture of the carpet after cleaning it). Julia was exhausted by the end of the evening. She fell asleep very quickly after her bath. Thank you everyone for the gifts!

Happy Birthdays

Happy Birthday Papa and Auntie Debbie! Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Love, Julia

Birthday Girl!

Today is Julia's birthday. She is 3 years old! Mommy brought a "Princess" cake to daycare today to celebrate with Julia's classmates. Grandma and Papere also came. The kids loved the cake (store bought). Auntie Weezie and Grandma came for dinner too. Julia got to open one present from us today. It was the Ducky Game. The same one that her cousins Nathan and Andrew has. She was very happy but there was one problem...batteries not included. After searching for a while we found some from another toy. Julia is very excited that her cousins are coming over on the weekend for her birthday party. She is looking forward to it.

Pajama Party

On friday, Julia's daycare had a pajama party. Basically the kids get to stay there until 9pm while Mom's and Dad's get to go for dinner. An early Valentine's date. Julia had a good time while we went to the Keg. We picked her up at 8pm but she didn't want to go home. It's was a long day for her but she had fun. Julia's cold is getting worse. She has a bad cough now. Hopefully she will get better over the weekend.

Home At Last

We made it home safe and sound. I wish I could say that our trip home was uneventful but...it was NOT! The first problem was that the flight was delayed. It was suppose to fly out at 10:50am but was rescheduled to 3:30pm (mechanical problems - the plane hit a bird and had to be repaired). Luckily I checked the times on-line when I woke up or else we would have been at the airport for 10 hours or so. By the time we did get to the airport at around noon mostly everyone on our flight had already checked in because they were there since 6am. Unfortunately for us there were no seats left together. Shortly before boarding though they opened up a few seats by moving some passengers to business class. During the flight (and all day actually) Julia was not behaving like a good girl. She was being bossy, not listening to Mommy and I, and generally being a bit "saucy". It peaked during our decent. She woke up from a short snooze and had a full blown, atomic tantrum on the plan...

Vacation Day 7

Image
We survived the tornados last night. We were safe where we were. The tornado action was about 50 miles from where we are. This was our last full day here in Florida. Mommy and Julia went to the mall to make a teddy bear. Of course Julia picked a princess bear to make. Her name is Princess Julia. After my conference was over we went for dinner at the Olive Garden. What we have noticed here in the USA is that food portions are HUGE. We can never finish what we order. It's a good thing we are heading home tomorrow or else we'll all be Super Sized in short order. After dinner Julia and I took a dip in the pool (burrrr!). We are off to the airport early morning and will be back home in the afternoon.

Vacation Day 6

Image
Today Julia and Mommy went to the outlet mall to do some shopping and have lunch. There were some good deals there. They came back to the hotel to swim. It was really warm today (finally!) but then it started to rain. In the evening, we went back to the outlet mall so I could pick up a few bargins myself then headed to Downtown Disney for some fun and dinner. Downtown Disney is an outdoor market place with shops and restaurants. There are a couple of kiddie rides too. There is also another section for adults that has all the bars and clubs. Julia also sat down to have a characature done. Of course it was of Julia the Princess in a pink gown. Tomorrows forecast looks grim. Warm and rainy.
