BBQ Day!

Today was our company BBQ lunch. The best part was that I got to have lunch with Julia as all the kids in the onsite daycare were invited to the BBQ too. Julia was very excited to see me there. We had chicken, turkey sausage and corn on the cob. Afterwards we had watermelon and a popsicle. After lunch it was back to work for me and off to nap time for Julia.

Weekend Recap

Image
On Saturday Mama (Julia's greatgrandmother) invited everyone over for dinner. The kids had a good time in the backyard. They all shared the toy lawnmower. On Sunday Julia spent the day with Grandma and Papere. Mommy and Daddy had other things to do. In the morning they went to church. In the afternoon they went to the Teddy Bear picnic in Gage Park. Julia had fun dancing to the music.

Show and Share Day

Image
Today was show and share day at school. Julia brought in her doll stroller and a baby (not THE baby). Another toddler in the class brought in the same thing. Originally Julia wanted to bring in "Baby" (as in THE baby) but I convinced her not to because everyone at school has seen it so many times before and Julia does NOT share BABY. Here's a few pics of Julia and Nicki from next door playing in the sandbox.

Selena's Birthday Party

Image
Today was cousin Selena's birthday party. It was a great day for a summer party (unless you're an allergy sufferer). All the kids had a great time together. As always the food was great. On top of the great weather, it started with a 2-0 Portugal victory (Vai Portugal!). Happy Birthday Selena!

Day Off

Image
Friday was a vacation day for daddy and Julia. I sealed the driveway and Julia stayed with Grandma and Papere for the day. Julia had a good day. McDonalds and Timmy's in the same day. After we all went over there for dinner.

What Does Your Daddy Do?

That was the question today at school. It is "Father's Day Week" at the daycare. Everyday the toddlers talk about their daddy's at circle time. Yesterday's topic was "What is your daddy's name?". That's and easy one for Julia. Today was "What does your daddy do at work?". This is not so easy for Julia (or any of the other toddlers). Julia told everyone that her daddy is "A hockey player on a BIG airplane!". I wish. Even that stiff Domi makes seven figures. Answers from the other toddlers: "Toronto", "Book", "Gabgee". I guess it's a tough question for two year olds. She also told everyone that her daddy has a "red nose...a booboo". I had a nose bleed last night. Julia was fasinated by the whole bloody scene. She was especially fasinated with the kleenex stuffed up my nostril. "That's funny! go show Mommy!". No sympathy for Dad.

First Haircut!

Image
Today Julia had her first full haircut. She was a bit nervous at first. Julia sat on Mommy's lap and had a lolipop. That made her more relaxed. In the end she loved her hair. She even got sparkles in her hair. After her haircut we went for a chocolate donut because she was such a good girl.

Johnny's BBQ

Image
Yesterday we went to John P's BBQ. He had tons of food! We stuffed ourselves. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, Julia had a great time because there were lots of kids. Her cousins Selena and Mya were there as well as Jenna, Jasmine and Cole. Baby Madelyne was there too. Thanks John. Today we enjoyed the weather playing in the back yard and taking a couple of walks. Mommy and Julia walked all the way to Grandma's house.

Happy Birthday Papere!

Image
Today is Papere's birthday. We went to their house for dinner. Julia had sang happy birthday and ate cake (i.e. icing). After dinner Aunt Weezie took Julia out to play in the sprinkler. What a HOT day!

The Zoo

Image
On Saturday we went to the zoo to enjoy the great weather. Julia was excited to see all the animals. She particularly enjoyed the animals that she could identify. Her favourite was the monkeys. Most of the animals seemed to be sleeping for some reason. Too hot? After the zoo we went to Grandma and Papa's house for dinner. Cousins Selena and Mya were there too. Julia actually went swimming this time. She had fun despite continually asking to get out. After dinner the kids went for a "train" ride (TTC's RT). Julia thought that was great. On Sunday we went to the Mandarin to celebrate Papere's birthday. Tomorrow we will celebrate his actual birthday with cake and presents. Julia is looking forward to that.

Singing in the Tub

Julia loves to sing. Here are a few clips of her singing in the tub. The first two is her practicing for Papere's upcoming birthday.

Vegas Videos

Here is a video of our walk from our hotel room to the elevator. We aren't even at the end of the hall! Here is a 360 view in the Valley of Fire National Park. No one to be seen.

Vegas Baby! Vegas!

Image
Mommy and I took off to Las Vegas for four nights this week. Julia stayed with Grandma and Papere. She has a great time and was well behaved (at least that's their story and they're sticking to it). Julia had lots of Dora time (videos and books) which drove Papere insane. Now Papere can feel my Dora pain. Las Vegas was HOT!!! It was over 38C every day that we were there. Night time temperatures were around 32C. We stayed at MGM Grand. It is nice but way too big. Too much walking just to get around within the hotel. Old people would hate it there (stick to Imperial Palace). Of course we lost money. We rented a Jeep for two days. We went to Valley of Fire national park. It has awesome outcroppings of red rocks. A weird looking place. It was around 75 miles from Vegas in the middle of nowhere. It's a strange feeling being out in the desert with not a soul in sight. The nicest casino washrooms...The Wynn. Granite sink basins! Wow! Here are some pictures. Video...
