Sick

Julia had a fever at school on Wednesday. I had to take her home a bit earlier than her normal pickup time. Her fever was 102F. She was very lathargic by the time I got her home and she threw up a bit. Once the Tempra lowered her temperature she was more alert and eventually back to her normal self. She stayed home at Grandma and still had fevers throughout the day. I think she will be home again tomorrow.

Mya's Birthday

Sunday was cousin Mya's 4th birthday party. It was a pool party! (I'm sure you all know that and have already seen a bunch of pictures). It was a lot of fun...even for the adults! The water side was cool. Check out the videos of Nancy (lame splash), Debbie (better splash), and Mark (big splash).

Sleep Over Party

Julia had "sleep over party" with Mommy and Grandma at Grandma's house. They read stories, painted their nails and watched movies. Daddy meanwhile had the guys over for a poker game. Today Julia went for her last swimming class. She actually jumped into the pool twice voluntarily! She went right under water and didn't seem to bothered by that. She also got her report card and she passed (nobody fails).

Trip to London (Ontario)

Image
This was a busy weekend. We went on a road trip to London Ontario. Also joining us was Grandma and Papa, Aunt Jackie, Uncle Gary, Selena, Mya and Jacob. The main attraction was Storybook Gardens where we all met on Saturday morning. Julia really loves this place and it is even more fun with her cousins there. It was a long day for Papa though. Later we checked into our hotel and we all went for a swim before dinner. Dinner was a Crabby Joe's. On Sunday we checked out the Children's Museum. Surprisingly there was lots to do and the kids had a great time. Papa didn't want to come in so he waited outside...for TWO hours! He didn't seem to mind though. It was a great weekend. London 2007

Yuki and Todd's

Image
On Sunday we went to Yuki and Todd's house warming. They have a very nice townhouse in Toronto. This was also our first chance to meet baby Lucas who was also attending with his parents Tracy and Greg. He's a very happy baby. Afterwards we went to Grandma and Papa's for dinner and a swim.

African Lion Safari

Today we went to African Lion Safari. The weather was perfect. We had a great time. The big hit of the day was the baboons of course. Julia was disappointed that they didn't jump on the bus (I didn't drive my car through). They did however hitch rides on the cars where people were throwing food out the windows. We also did the train ride, the boat ride and the water park.

Daddy's a Nerd

Julia doesn't know it yet but her daddy is a nerd. I saw a Rubik's Cube at Toy R Us and couldn't resist. I can solve it! Watch. I'm not super quick but slightly faster than this 3 year old.

School Pics

Visit with the Inamoto's

Image
Today we went to Uncle Gary and Auntie Jackie's to get together with the Inamoto's (Roger, Barbara, Michelle, Greg, Kayla, Jennifer, John and Cadence). All the kids had a great time playing together. John brought out an inflatable Jumping Castle. BIG hit with the kids! It was great seeing everyone again. Check out the pics. Gary and Jackie's - July 2007

Bird Nest Update

I am sad to announce Julia won't be having any pet birds. 2 eggs...no survivors. One hatched but the chick died. The other only partially hatched and the chick didn't make it out. Julia doesn't know but she hasn't peeked at it for some time so maybe she forgot about them.

IT Picnic

Image
This week at work we had an "IT Picnic". It was after work so Julia came with me. There were games and prizes. Julia was a bit discouraged because the games were hard for a 3 year old. She did participate in the egg race. We came second so Julia picked a mini camera for her prize. She also got a nice Dora t-shirt.

Trip to Leamington

Image
This weekend was spent in Leamington. The main reason for the trip was to attend Sheryl's high school reunion. Grandma and Papere also came to Leamington this weekend. We arrived on Friday afternoon. We went for a quick swim in the pool and headed to dinner to meet up with Aunt Irene and her cousin from Arizona. Later that evening we went visit Gerry and Jennifer and their new baby Gillian. Gillian is number four after 3 boys (Hayden, Bailey and Evan). On Saturday we went back to Jennifer and Gerry's for a visit and to go for a swim in their pool. Julia was a bit nervous in this pool because it is big and deep. She had more fun playing with Gillian. On Saturday evening we went to the reunion. Julia stay with Grandma and Papere. The reunion was...interesting. I'll leave it at that. Overall it was a fun night. The reunion continued on Sunday with a gathering at Seacliff Park. The park is right on the Lake. This was Julia's first visit to the beach. Unfortuna...

Centre Island

Image
We capped of a busy weekend with a trip to Centre Island with cousins Mya, Selena and Jacob. The weather turned out great. It was a bit chilly in the shade but that didn't stop the girls from heading to the wading pool. Julia's favourite ride was the carousel. Her least favourite was the drop-zone type ride for kiddies. She cried. Other than that one ride, she had a great time. Click on the image to see photos of the day. Centre Island 2007

Fast Slides

The slides were kind of fast at the indoor playground.

Jenna's Birthday

Image
The busy weekend continued on Saturday with swimming lessons in the morning and Jenna's birthday party in the afternoon. Jenna's birthday party was at an indoor play ground in Pickering. Lots of fun for the kids. After the party we went back to Mark and Nancy's.

Storybook Gardens

Image
Today Mommy and Julia went to Storybook Gardens in London and met up with Michaela and her Mommy Linda. They are from Windsor. Also joining in were Grandma, Papere, Auntie Weezie and Auntie Linda. Daddy had to work. The girls had a great time. Julia really loves this place. We are going back there next month with her cousins. Check out the photos. Storybook Gardens July 2007

Day Care Events

Image
Two events at school this week: Teddy Bear Picnic and Crazy Hair Day!

Special Lunch Date

Yesterday Julia had a special guest for lunch….Mommy!  Mommy visited the daycare to meet with Julia's teacher (No problems.  Julia is doing great.).  After the meeting Mommy stuck around for some lunch (Turkey meat balls).  Julia was very proud to have her Mommy there.  After lunch Julia went home early with Mommy.  She also visited the eye doctor for a regular check up.  Julia was a good girl and there are no problems with her eyes.

Weekend Update

Julia had her first swimming lesson on Saturday morning. It's a parent and tots class so I was in the pool with Julia. Julia had a lot of fun learning how to float, glide, blow bubbles and kick her feet. It was great until I had to dunk her underwater. She let me do it once but didn't enjoy it. She said that she doesn't want to go back next week. In the afternoon, Grandma and Papa came for a visit and took us out to dinner. We went to Jack Astor's. After dinner we dropped by Grandma and Papere's to see the new work they are doing on their garden. Sunday was a quiet day. Julia went to church. We just relaxed today.

Canada Day!

Image
On Sunday we took in some of the Canada Day festivities at Chinguacousy Park in Brampton. Papere came along too. They had all sorts of rides. Julia went on a bunch of rides all on her own. Julia also went in the jumping tent. That was fun until some bigger kids knocked her over. She cried so we had to pull her out. We gave Julia her first taste of Cotton Candy...Yum. She hated it. Julia's favourite part of the park was the swings. After the park, we picked up Grandma and Papere treated us to a nice dinner at East Side Mario's.
