Lost Tooth Again!

Image
Julia lost a second tooth already! This one was lost at school in the playground. Julia didn't know exactly when she lost it so we couldn't find it. No worries. We wrote the Tooth Fairy a letter and told her where to look for it. She found it and Julia got another two bucks.

Uncle Bob Turns 40!

I know I'm a bit late with this post. Uncle Bob turned 40 and had a big party. Lots of kids, lots of food, lots of fun. Of course the Jumping Castle was set up.

New Bedroom Set

Julia got a new bedroom set. New bed, dresser, night table and lamp. She just finished getting all set up.

Lost Tooth!

Julia lost her first tooth today. It's a bit early (4 years, 7 months) but she did get her first tooth early too (4 months). It has been really loose for a couple of days and today she bit into a dinner roll and knocked it out. At first she thought that she was biting into a hard piece of bread! Good thing she didn't swallow it! It is now under the pillow waiting for the tooth fairy. Julia is expecting $7. Julia is going to be disappointed.

Leamington

On Sunday, Julia, Mommy, Grandma and Auntie Weezie went to Leamington for the day. They attended two Showers. A bridal shower for Deanne (cousin Joel's bride to be) and a baby shower for Uncle John's granddaughter Jackie. Uncle John has a motel/trailer park on the lake so that was fun for Julia. It was a long day of driving (6 hours!) but Julia made it without too much fussing.

Niagara Falls - Great Wolf Lodge

On Thursday/Friday we went to Niagara Falls and Great Wolf Lodge with Selena, Mya and Jacob. We went on the big ferris wheel and the Maid of the Mist. We got soaked on the Maid of the Mist. Mya and Julia really enjoyed being so close to the Falls. Next stop was Great Wolf Lodge. It was our first time there. Julia was very nervous of the water slides. It took a lot of tears and crying before she went on the bigger slides (with the help of Mommy pushing her down the slide!). We all had a great time there and I'm sure we'll be back for another visit next year.

Heart Lake

Today we went to the Heart Lake Conservation Area . It has a new splash pad that we wanted to checkout. Overall it's a fairly standard splash pad and certainly not worth the price of admission. The splash pad was only $2 per kid but adults have to pay $6 to get into the park. I guess it's ok if you were to go fishing and hiking. Julia says she had fun but I'm not sure.

Junior Kindergarden!

Image
Julia started JK today! Mommy went with Julia for her first day. Julia is still at the same school at my work but she is now in a new room with new teachers. The best part is that now when I join her for lunch I don't have to sit in little mini chairs around a mini table.

Happy 5th Birthday Mya!

Happy Birthday Mya! 5 years old. Wow! Yesterday went to Mya's birthday party. The weather was kind for once. Everyone had a great time. Uncle Bob's jumping castle was a huge hit again!

Children's Museum

Image
On Sunday, Auntie Linda invited Sheryl and Julia to Kitchener for a visit and took them to the Waterloo Children's Museum. It sounds like they had a great visit! Here is a few pictures. Sheryl didn't know how to use the flash so these are the only ones that turned out.

Centre Island

On Saturday we went to Centre Island with Uncle Gary, Aunt Jackie, Selena, Mya and Jacob. The weather was perfect. Unfortunately it seemed like everyone else had the same idea. It was very crowded by lunch time. It was still a great day and the kids were able to ride everything they wanted. Julia even went on the log ride and the kiddie coaster.

Niagara Falls

Sheryl and I went to Niagara Falls for a night. The weather was great. We went up the new ferris wheel at night time. It was disappointing. We couldn't see too much. The falls were lit up but not enough to see a lot of detail. Plus the spot lights focused on the ferris wheel caused a lot of glare. It is probably a much better view in the day. The casino was fun even though we lost.

Wildlife

Update on the bird in the flower basket. Both eggs hatched and the little baby birds quickly grew into big birds. It was amazing to see how fast they grew. Just today they flew away. Oh and we finally saw what has been digging around in our garden. These shots are of him wandering around in the backyard neighbour's yard. This was actually one of a family of 3 that we saw one morning.

Storybook Gardens

On Saturday we went to Storybook Gardens in London. We met up with Selena, Mya, and Jacob. The weather cooperated for once this year! Not too hot and sunny most of the day. Here are some pictures of the day.

New Pet!

Image
Again we have a new pet that was uninvited. However this pet is much better than the stinky skunk. We found this bird using our hanging flower pot as a nest. That lazy bugger. There are two eggs in there. This bird is really comfortable with us now. She doesn't fly away when we peak into the "nest".

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Image
July 21st was Mommy's birthday. We had a nice birthday dinner at Grandma's house. Julia and I picked out the cake...chocolate of course. Guess how old Mommy is. 29! ...Again!

Jenna's Birthday Party

OK I've been very late with my postings but I am still committed to this thing. As long as there is an audience for this then it is certainly worth while. On July 20th we went to Jenna's birthday party. Jenna is 4 years old! Jenna can easily pass for 5 years old! The kids had a great time bowling. Julia initially had trouble bowling in her dress but once she got her shorts on she was good to go!

Erin Visits

Image
It's been a long time since the last update. It's not because we haven't been up to anything. Acutally quite the opposite. Cousin Erin, Jacquie and Roland visited with us for 10 days. They were here from New Zealand. The highlights of the visit includes a birthday party for Erin, the Zoo and African Lion Safari. We would have like to have had more day trips but jobs tend to get in the way of that. Regardless, we still had some good days. Photo albums of the highlights below. Back to Wonderland

Today we went back to Wonderland for day 2 of our BMO pass. We did our best to avoid the rain but it still poured on us. Overall the day was mostly sunny and hot so it still turned out to be a good day. The girls and Jacob enjoyed having their faces painted. Note to self: No more self spinning rides with Selena unless you want to puke!
