Puck's Farm

Julia had a field trip from school to Puck's Farm. She really loved it because Mommy came along. Highlights included petting the animals, pony rides, wagon ride and milking a real cow! Luckily the weather co-operated and gave them a bit of sunshine in the afternoon.

Soccer Star

Image
Julia had her first soccer game and loved it. She didn't score (yet) but she did kick the ball a few times. Overall she played a good game and expect her to continue enjoying it until she has her first blind-sided collision with a team mate. She really loves her uniform because it "glows in the dark"!

The Long Weekend

Image
The long weekend wasn't too busy. Saturday was rainy so we went for a drive to check out some backyard play sets. Man they are expensive! The cheap ones at Wal-Mart are looking better every day. On Sunday, Grandma, Papa, and Grandma came for a visit and dinner. We had the first BBQ of the season. Too bad it wasn't a bit warmer. Monday was pretty low key. We went to help Grandma and Auntie Weezie with their backyard gazeebo thing.

More Backyard Wildlife

Image
After battling a skunk last year and a mouse more recently, a new opponent has entered the arena. Mommy spied this bold raccoon sunning on our patio chair. She tried scaring it away by banging on the glass door. That didn't work. He just got off the chair and came to the door to see who was banging. There is nowhere for him to live in our backyard so he took off and we haven't seen him since.

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
Today we went to Grandma's for a swim, to celebrate Mother's day and Grandma's birthday.

Jolly Jumping!

Image
Emily had her first try at the Jolly Jumper. She's getting the hang of it and really enjoys it!

Hail Storm!

Image
We had a huge hail storm on Saturday morning. The house was rumbling! Julia thought it was cool. Emily was awake bug-eyed in her crib wondering what all that noise was. Luckily the hail stayed pea sized so no damage was done except for the flowers. There was enough hail to shovel! The road looked like a river! I have some video which I'll post soon.

The Busy Birthday Weekend

Image
This was a busy weekend filled with birthday activities. Saturday was my birthday. We went to visit Russell to give him his birthday present. We missed his party last weekend when we were at Wonderland. Later on Saturday we went to Grandma and Papa's for dinner. On Sunday Mommy, Julia, Emily and Grandma went to a fund raiser lunch at the Four Seasons downtown. Then it was off to Woodbridge for Julia's friend Makayla's birthday party. Then it was back home to celebrate Grandma's birthday with dinner and cake. That's it for birthday's...until next week.

Emily is 6 Months Old

Emily is now 6 months old. We celebrated with a little cake and ate it up for her. The girls were proud to show off their matching PJs.

Wonderland

On Saturday we went to Wonderland. It was BMO day. The weather was fantastic and we got back into the car just before the downpour. Here are some pictures. They look the same as last years pictures.

We're Moving!

Image
Not to be outdone by Uncle Gary, we finally found a place to move to. After looking for a year and a half, we found a house that meets most of our criteria. It has a large lot (with room for a swing set), a swimming pool, a nice neighbourhood, AND a price that we can handle. Oh, and it needs a major kitchen reno. I guess you can't have everything. We can't wait! Pool parties!

Julia's Dance Recital

Image
Today was Julia's dance recital at the Rose Theater in Brampton. Both Grandma's came to watch Julia strut her stuff on the big stage. Julia's class put on a great performance to the song "Fabulous". Julia had a great time performing and is looking foward to doing it again in the fall.

Emily Update

Image
Emily is now 5 months old! She has really come a long way. She doing very well and is healthy and happy. She loves to smile and giggle. Sleeping is still a bit of a challenge. Emily does not like to go to sleep. We are still swinging her in her car seat under the bathroom fan to get her to settle down. Once down she sleeps through the night most of the time. Unfortunately bottle feeding is still hit and miss.

Big Bath

Emily is enjoying the space in the bath tub. She was getting too big for her little baby bath.

Russell Entertains the Crowd

Birthday Parties

On Sunday we celebrated Julia's 5th birthday with TWO parties! The first party was at the Fun Zone which included her friends from school. The kids had a great time in the various jumping castles, climbers and toys. Even some of the parents played as well. After the Fun Zone we had a party for family back at our place. Lots of noise, food and fun. Russell is a pretty entertaining lad...not shy at all. Julia thanks everyone for the very generous gifts she received and the good times!

Happy Birthday Julia!

Image
Julia is 5 years old today! Wow! Time flies. We first celebrated at school where they had a birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday. Mommy, Emily and Grandma came too. Later we went to Boston Pizza (Julia's choice) for dinner. Aunt Weezie came too. Julia like it when they came to the table and sang Happy Birthday...very loudly! Emily cried.
