Today Julia went back to daycare. She had a really good day and was in a good mood right from the moment I dropped her off. She took an extra long nap this afternoon...3 and a half hours. I guess it is from fighting the infection.

Julia is home for one more day.  Sheryl is with her.  Julia didn't sleep well last night due to ear pain (I'm assuming) so we thought that rest would be the best thing for her right now.  She should be back at the CopperHouse tomorrow.

Julia woke up today with a fever. She was up at around 4:50am. We decided to keep her home today so that she could see a doctor. We were lucky enough to get her in to see her pediatrician in the afternoon. During the day she generally felt ok. She was a bit tired but in good spirits. Her fever went as high as 103 by late morning. Tempra was able to bring it down. The doctor confirmed what we already suspected. Julia has yet another ear infection. She will be on antibiotics for 7 days. Hopefully when she gets her tubes put in these ear infections will be easier on her. I think we will take her to daycare tomorrow. She is fine when her fever is down and Tempra seems to do the trick (it's been a wonder drug for us). Poor Julia. I've lost count of her ear infections since February...I think this is her sixth.

Well today Julia had a so-so day. She fell asleep at the lunch table and missed most of her lunch. By the time her nap time rolled around after lunch she wasn’t ready for a nap because of her lunch time snooze. I was told by one of the daycare caregivers that Julia was a bit warm. Oh no, not again. I took her temperature when I got home. 100.7 deg C. That’s a touch warm. Something is definitely going on. She was cranky at bedtime which is another sign. She just woke up (9pm) and her temperature has risen to 101.6. We gave her some Tempra to fight the fever and hopefully let her sleep restfully. We’ll see how it is in the morning.

Today we went to Centre Island with Louise, Gary, Jackie, Selena and Mya. It turned out to be a beautiful day…not a cloud in the sky, 25 deg C. We were on the ferry by around 10:30am. This was Julia’s first ride on any type of boat. She enjoyed the whole ride looking at the boats in the water and the ducks floating by. Once we got there we headed straight for the rides at Centreville. There was only 3 rides that Julia could go on; the train, the carousel and the antique cars. We bought tickets for the train and the carousel. First up was the train. I stayed back and took pictures and watched everyone’s stuff while they were on the ride, plus I was hungry and wanted to get a snack. Everyone seemed to like it. Julia had fun until they got to the tunnel. It was very dark I’m told and Julia was a bit scared. Julia’s next ride was the carousel. This time I made Sheryl go with her since Julia was pretty scared at Chinguacousy Park yesterday. This carousel had a bench which Julia preferred ...

Julia had a busy Canada Day. We started off in the backyard in the morning. Julia played in her pool and sand box with Mommy and Auntie Weezie. After her nap, we all went to Chinguacousy Park for Canada Day celebrations. Chinguacousy Park is a large park in the heart of Brampton/Bramalea. It has farm animals, ponds, gardens, lots of geese and ducks, childrens playground and even a ski hill. On Canada Day they have carnival rides, games and, in the evening, fireworks. Julia played the floating duck game and came up with a "large" prize (it's about the size of my fist), a furry duck. Afterwards, Julia was brave enough to go on the carousel with me. At first she wouldn't sit on the horse but eventually she worked up enough courage to sit on it for a few times around. Julia cried a bit and wanted mommy. After the ride I asked her, "Do you want to go again?". "No, no, no!". So that was it for the rides. They had a Metis booth there selling Metis stuff. ...

Last weekend we went to the Teddy Bear Picnic at Gage Park. They had a live band which Julia loved. It was really hot out so we didn't stay too long. We got there around 3pm and stayed for around an hour. We listened to the music. Julia danced and clapped. I think we were suppose to bring a teddy bear which we didn't do. This was the first time we took Julia's new wagon out for a spin besides around our block. Sometimes Julia would rather push the wagon instead of sitting in it. This is the same wagon that cousin Andrew has. It has a back rest and seat belts...nice eh? (by the way...you can click on the pictures to see it full size)

I'm going to back up a couple of weeks here. For Father's day Julia made me a custom hand painted tie. It was an old tie that she took to the Copperhouse (daycare) without me knowing (wink,wink). The best part of it was the picture glued to it. I can't wait to wear it...maybe at Grantley's wedding! Ha! Along with the tie was a card that Julia made. It had a priceless picture glued into it. This photo still makes Julia laugh every time I show it to her. She's a bit cross-eyed in it. I hope it was just because they had the camera too close to her face.
