Julia and Emily's World

Today we went to my work's Kids Christmas Party. All of Julia's friends from DayCare were there. Julia was a grump. She didn't say hi. She didn't play with them. She did a lot of clinging to Mommy. She did however go see Santa and liked her puppy dog gift. By the end of the party, with everyone heading for the door, Julia was finally warming up to the party and didn't want to leave. That's our fault. We headed out late and then I got lost (Google Maps made a mistake!). Mommy's work's kids party is coming up. We'll be getting there early! Can you see "baby" in this picture?

I've had the past two days off to rip out the fireplace. Julia has been with Grandma while Uncle Louis and I do our reno work. The fireplace is coming out so we can put a tv on that wall instead. That should open up the room to a lot more seating. We should be done tomorrow aside from the painting. The last part will be buying the tv. I think I know the one I want now. I figure the longer I can wait the cheaper it will get although I already bought the wall mounting bracket. Today Julia went to see her first movie...Happy Feet, with grandma and Auntie Weezie. She was a good girl and sat quietly through the whole movie. Very surprising. Here's some shots of the damage so far.

Today is our 5th anniversary AND our wedding day! Today we got remarried in church. We recently found out that the church did not recognize our beach wedding (surprise) and we were technically living in SIN! Sheryl is not big on sinning so we decided to rectify the errors of our way. It was a simple ceremony with immediate family and Lou (of course). After the church we came back to our place for dinner.

Last weekend we visted the Mall Santa. Here is the picture. She's smiling this year!

Julia stayed home for two days this week. She had the runs at school so we kept her home until it cleared. They don't like that at daycare obviously. She didn't seem sick so we think it may have been something she ate. Julia didn't mind staying with Grandma for a couple of days. She always has fun there. On Saturday we did our family Christmas pictures (to be posted later). Julia was great. She smiled and posed for the camera. After the family pictures we dropped by to see Santa. Unlike last year, Julia was very happy to see Santa. She talked to him and sat on his lap. I'll post the picture soon. Today we finally visited baby Jacob. What a big boy! He has so much hair like his Dad use to have! Julia was more excited to see Mya and Selena than Jacob. She peaked at him for a second. Later on we went to Grandma and Papa's for dinner and a dip in the pool. Julia is really loving the water now. I guess swimming lessons are next.

This weekend we were planning on visiting baby Jacob. Unfortunately Sheryl and Julia both had a cold. We thought it would be best to stay away from him until we were healthy. We'll try again next weekend. We went to the mall. Cleaned the house. Watched a movie. That's it.

Yeah! Halloween! Today Julia had the Halloween parade at school. They visited all the buildings at work to visit the Mommys and Daddys. Julia was really happy to see me because she was nervous of all the people there. Of course Julia went trick or treating tonight. First around our house and then to Grandma and Papere. She got lots of stuff!

Today we carved our pumpkins. As promised to Julia, one is Dora. Julia started out pretty interested in the activities but soon lost interest after 15 minutes or so. Overall she wasn't too impressed with the Dora pumpkin. I thought it looked good! For the second pumpkin I wanted to do something a bit scarier.

We have officially banned Max and Ruby from out house. Julia loves this show but unfortunately she has been acting very Max-like lately. She is whiny with one word answers repeated that drive us nuts. It would be fine if she immitated Ruby. Her bad behaviour of late spilled over to her time with Grandma and Papere. They took her to Tim Horton's and she freaked out because her sprinkle donuts were sold out and got a chocolate donut instead. Grandma and Papere did their best to calm her down and brought her home. She was better behaved today at church and McDonalds. Stay away from that show!

During his party, Nathan managed to snag my camera and take some pictures without us knowing. Here are a few of his best shots.

This afternoon was Nathan's birthday party. Julia didn't nap so we were a bit worried that she would be a grump. She ended up sleeping in the car on the way so she was fine. The kids had a great time as always playing with each other. Julia, Mya and Nathan were playing together a lot. Selena and Andrew were entertaining each other. Dinner was very good. Uncle Bob did a good job on the BBQ. The kids enjoyed Treehouse on the 100" screen! All the kids also brought their Halloween costumes and swapped candy.

This morning we went to shop for pumpkins. We found a little market stand that had lots of pumpkins. We bought three pumpkins. A daddy pumpkin, a mommy pumpkin and a baby pumpkin. Now comes the tricky part...turning one of the pumpkins into Dora and the other into Boots.

Today was Pajama Day at school. The kids were able to wear their pajamas to school. From what I saw it was only Julia and her friend Kaitlyn that wore their pajamas. Julia didn't care. She'd wear her pajamas to school everyday if she could. Here are a couple of pictures of the kids collecting sails at school during a rainy day.

Today Uncle Gary, Auntie Jackie, Selena and Mya came for a visit. The girls had fun playing together. Selena is great at keeping Julia entertained. She even took Julia to the bathroom for us. They enjoyed eating at the green table in front of the TV.

Today Julia went for her regular dental check-up, teeth cleaning. She has stains again that they polished off. No cavities (yet)! A couple of pictures of Julia at school. In one picture she is telling her peers the rules before they go off to play. She's a bit bossy.

Today both sets of grandparents and Auntie Weezie came over for Thanksgiving dinner. To everyones surprise Mommy's turkey turned out great! Surprising because it was her first turkey ever. It really was good. Julia and Auntie Weezie made a chocolate cake together too.
