Julia and Emily's World

We went to Grandma's for a swim after the wedding. Grandma gave the girls matching bathing suits for Easter.

Uncle found a new drinking buddy. They told me it was pomegranate juice but I'm not so sure. Andrew's behaviour was getting kind of silly.

Today we went to Janet and Mohamed's wedding at the Sultan's Tent. It was a very nice wedding and the food was great! The kids also had a great time, especially watching the belly dancers. Congratulations Janet and Mohamed! Check out the last pic. Nathan was staring at the dancer's ta-tas! He has to learn to take glancing looks...it's like looking at the sun, take a quick peek but never stare. He'll learn.

What a nice day! Julia and I went for a walk around the block after supper to take advantage of the great weather tonight. We went around the block. She is very observant and very loud with her comments/questions. "Hey look at that girl riding on the road! That's naughty!". "Sshhhh! not so loud Julia". "Hey look at those boys playing basketball on the road! That's dangerous!". "Ssshhhh! It's ok Julia. Those are BIG boys. Really big boys.". Then we saw a bunch of young boys playing road hockey. One was a young Sikh boy wearing a ramaal (I believe that's what it's called. Click here for a picture of what I mean .). "Hey Daddy! Look at that boy! He has a flower on his head! Why does he have a flower on his HEAD?". "Sshhh!! Julia that's not a flower." I can only imagine what other things she will say.

This was a quiet weekend. Mommy is still fighting a cold and Julia is now coughing. She woke up early this morning coughing. On Saturday we went to Grandma and Papere's house for dinner. Today Mommy and Julia made a banana chocolate chip bread (cake?). Julia is always eagar to help. Julia not so excited about showing her St. Patrick's day shirt last week.

The kids had a treat at school. They went swimming (no life jackets required)! They'll be at it again on Thursday.

On Saturday Papere and Grandma came over for dinner. Papere brought a chocolate cake! Julia had a big piece and ate the whole thing. She loves her chocolate. On Sunday, Julia spent the afternoon with Grandma while Mommy and I did a bit of furniture shopping. On Wednesday of last week, the Preschool class cooked dinner for their families. We had whole wheat pasta with meat sauce, bread, salad and rice krispy squares for dessert. They did a great job!

We were back at Grandma and Papa's this Sunday. This time it was for my cousin Janet's wedding shower. It was held at the condo party room. Julia was excited to be going to another party (although she thinks it is a birthday party) because she gets to wear a dress. After the party the cousins played around at Grandma's. Julia went for a dip in the pool of course. Milestone! This is post number 300 of "Julia's World".

I'm a bit behind in my posts. These were from last weekend. All the cousins were over at Grandma's to go swimming. Julia is now comfortable floating alone with her floatie. She kick her feet to move in the direction she wants.

Winter sucks but kids love it. Tonight we had some fun sliding down the driveway. We haven't had too many mild days with snow this winter so we had to take advantage of it. Next door Nicky joined in on the fun.

I am happy to report that "Baby with the Bib" has been found and returned safely to her owner. It was a tense few nights but Julia bravely coped with this terrible ordeal. It turned out that "Baby" was in the teachers cupboard all along. I guess we just didn't look hard enough on Friday (or someone is playing cruel tricks on Julia!). Regardless, the nightmare is over and we can all return to our normal lives. Baby is never going back to school.

Major crisis at daycare today. I went to pick up Julia and her favourite baby was missing. This is THE baby of babies. Julia has slept with her every night of her life. At this point we don't know where she is. Hopefully she will turn up on Monday. Julia was very stressed at the time but she did fall asleep tonight without a problem. I think everyone can relate to having a favourite comfort doll or stuffed animal. For example, I know this 37 year old guy ( I won't name names ) who still cherishes his stuffed monkey from his childhood even though it only has one eye left and is all crusty!

Julia was back to school today. She was in a good mood. Her nose is still really runny but hopefully she is over the worst of it. Here is another photo album. Julia's 3rd Birthday Party

Today Julia stayed with Grandma. She has another cold coming on and it was getting bad last night and this morning. I don't think she was feeling good because she was pretty crabby at Grandma's. Hopefully by being at Grandma's she got more rest than at school. I think tomorrow she will be going back to school.

Today we had Julia's birthday party. All her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents came over to celebrate. We also celebrated the birthdays of Andrew, Papa, Auntie Debbie and Aunt Linda. Julia got lots of nice presents. The cousins had fun playing together. Not too much fighting. Nathan did a number on the carpet, his hair and clothes with playdough mixed with water. We got the carpet cleaned fairly easily with OxyClean (yes it does work! see the last picture of the carpet after cleaning it). Julia was exhausted by the end of the evening. She fell asleep very quickly after her bath. Thank you everyone for the gifts!
