Julia and Emily's World

On Saturday Auntie Linda and Aunt Betty dropped by Papere and Grandma's to see how Papere is doing. We dropped by for a short visit to say hi.

On Sunday we went to Papere and Grandma's house for a BBQ party. Luckily the weather co-operated and the heavy rains came just before all the guests arrived. Julia was thrilled to have her cousins at her Papere's house although she was not use to share her toys there. We also celebrated Papere's birthday. Happy Birthday Papere.

Julia likes her new bike. This was a gift from Grandma and Papa K at Christmas time. She was afraid to try it out but now she's a pro.

Today we went to the zoo. What a busy day! The line up to the parking lot took around 30 minutes. Of course we couldn't park in the main parking lot so we had to walk miles to get to the front entrance. I was tired before we even saw the first monkey. Julia didn't mind because she rode in the wagon. Inside the zoo was crowded but not too bad. The animals were a bit disappointing this time. Many were off display or sleeping. There was only one polar bear and one seal. Julia's favourite part was watching an elephant take a leak ("leak" is not the right word..."gusher" is more appropriate), then poo and picked at it with his trunk! Gross! After the zoo we went to McDonald's in shady part of Scarborough (I won't mention where...I don't want to offend any Scarberians). Julia was intrigued by a man who was talking to himself. Today we went to Grandma and Papa's to celebrate Mother's Day and go for a swim. Too bad Selena, Mya, Jacob and Auntie Jackie couldn't come. We ate chicken and ribs for dinner and Julia attacked a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. Julia had fun with her boy cousins although she fought a bit with Nathan.

Grandma's birthday was last week but she was sick so we went out for her birthday today. We went to a Cajun seafood place in Brampton. The food was good. Service was a bit slow though. Julia had a good time. She ate her entire ice cream dessert.        

This week Julia and her class learned about growing beans. As an experiment they each took a bean, wrapped it in a wet paper towel, put it in a clear bag and taped it to the window. We'll see if it grows. Julia likes to do house work at school. The boys do the laundry and Julia does the ironing. Julia also made a nice Mother's Day present for Mommy. It was a painted flower pot with seeds to grow flowers.

Finally! A hot day! Julia took advantage of the warm evening by washing the car, cutting the grass and having some water play.        

This afternoon we went to visit Ron, Julianne and baby Russell. Russell (shall we call him Rusty?), is a cute and well behaved little boy. He didn't even crap his diapers one time while we were there. How polite of him. Gina dropped by to visit Russell as well. After visiting Russell, we went to Grandma and Papa's for dinner. Also, at dinner were other Grandma, Papere, Auntie Weezie, and Uncle Louis. Dinner was great and we ate a lot. Unfortunately the pool is still closed so no swimming. The good news is that it will be opened next weekend when we visit.
